ABOUT US
My wife and I live in New York's Hudson Valley with our 3 young children. We have learned a great deal about restoration during the 14 years that we have been restoring our 1752 Dutch Homestead. I am hoping to apply a lot of what we have learned (plumbing, electric, woodworking, and design) to this project.
WHY A VINTAGE AIRSTREAM?
I first saw one of these trailers on the show - "HOW ITS MADE." I was mesmerized by the design, the overall shape, the shine, and the craftsmanship. I think I forgot about seeing this until years later when I saw one up close on a highway going somewhere. I was transfixed! I was also not clear on why all of the cars on the highway didn't pull over to get a good long look! I was hooked! I just had to have one...and VINTAGE is always the way I lean!
LOST & FOUND
I was more than lucky to discover our 1969 Airstream TradeWind (25') only 10 minutes from our house! This was a gift as most of the articles and posts I have seen involve some poor soul traveling half way, or all the way, across the country to tow home something sight unseen! I had a feeling late one night and did another search on Craigslist and there she was, staring right at me from a generic campsite on some rainy morning. A quick text and I was in touch with R. J. who, in addition to being a great communicator, turned out to be one serious VINTAGE AIRSTREAM resource. Made an offer. Offer accepted and my friend Paul and I were towing her home one evening in March.
